Atlanta looks to the future, praises veterans
Rookie coach Keith Bender has grown quite a bit along with the Atlanta Falcons as a whole in the 2010 season. After the lack luster season, the rookie coach is respectfully asking the veterans whose contracts have come to an end to return and assist with the conditioning and training of some of the rookie staff including the coach himself. Coach Bender realizes that the veteran leadership will be the key into getting the team to where they need to be for the next season.

One of the major areas that needs work for the offense is the large amount of turnovers. QB John David Booty will be working extensively with the QB coach in order to increase his throwing accuracy in the offseason.

As far as the running attack, the coach feels as if he did not utilize the running corps effectively this season. An offseason review of the playbook may be required in order to gain yards on the ground since the three running backs should be able to carry the load in the game.

The defense has been playing solidly most of the season, especially in the last four or five games where the run defense has noticably improved. It appeared that the defense was playing as a team in the last part of the season as the takeaways increased. LBs K. Brooking and B. Davis have helped coach LOLB Tavares Gooden in his rookie season enabling him to produce more than 46 tackles and 4 sacks for the team. Gooden is on the path to greatness at his position. The defense has also been achored by verteran CBs Quentin Jammer and DeAngelo Hall in the secondary. The addition of Michael Boulware has really solidified the saftey position giving someone to play opposite Greg Threat.



Coach Bender is looking to the draft to fill in a few holes and looking forward to training for next season for his young team.

Falcons await draft
Past few weeks have been hectic as we await for the draft. Under new ownership this year the organization has tried to reetool the team for the style of the new head coach.

Coach bass stated "We wanted to get guys in here for our style of football also fill some gaps and improve. We still have a few kinks to work out and holes to fill. Earlier this week we saw Brady Quinn traded which should be explination enough that this is a new era in falcon football and we will do what we think is best for the team."
