Jags and James Run to Victory in Win over Texans
Jacksonville, FL - The transition is complete. Rookie HB Javarris James has now assumed the starting position at RB for the Jacksonville Jaguars. James has shown that he not only wants to be top RB but he wants to lead the team as RB DeAngelo Williams once led the Cowboys for Coach Duper. We love his enthusiasm and hopefully next year he takes the next step. Tonight, James started for the Jags and rushed for 188 yards on 24 carries scoring twice. The youngster has great moves and a knack for finding the open space. "Boy he reminds me of DA" stated Coach Duper. "Watching him brought back memories of my star RB in Dallas and I am happy to have this young guy. The Jags avenged an earlier loss in the year to the Houston Texans defeating them 38-21. Backup QB Tim Hiller threw for 249 yards and 2 TDs while WR Paul Hubbard caught three passes for 102 yds and one TD. The other Paul (Williams) caught four passes for 92 yards while TE Matt Spaeth scored the other TD through the air. The Jags were led on defense by Veteran LB David Thorton who had 12 tackles, one for a loss, and one interception. Veteran Ken Hamlin had 8 tackles and 1 interception for touchdown in the game. Safety Troy Polamalu had 6 tackles while CB Ashton Youboty had 5 tackles. The Jags played for pride tonight and showed themselves really well.
