Cowboys vs Redskins |
The Dallas Cowboys were playing their first game under their new head coach. They came to DC looking to knock off their NFC East rivals.
First Quarter
Both offenses started the game trying to get a feel for the defenses. The Cowboys started moving down the field when Chris Graham (5 tkl, 1 sack) intercepted a pass at the 21 yard line to end the first scoring thrreat of the game.
Cowboys 0, Redskins 0
Second Quarter
The Redskins offense was able to put together a 75 yard drive that took 15 plays, but stalled inside the 5. They had to settle for a 20-yard field goal. The Dallas offense responded with a 14 play drive that covered 72 yards. They ended up having to settle for a 19-yard field goal to tie the score at the two minute warning. Washington moved into their two minute offense. Chad Henne (17 of 25 for 225 yards) completed the drive with a 28 yard pass play to Clinton Portis (2 rec, 32 yds) with 20 seconds left in the half.

Third Quarter
The Dallas Cowboys evened the score midway through the quarter. Santana Moss (2 rec, 27 yds) hauled in a 15 yard touchdown pass from Tim Tebow (14 of 27 for 174 yards) to complete a 7 play, 74 yard drive. The Redskins offense then put together another long drive. This time 15 plays spanning 76 yards. Steve Breaston (6 rec, 79 yds) snared a 7 yard touchdown pass as the quarter came to a close.

Fourth Quarter
Tebow started to move the Cowboys back down the field. However, Sean Taylor (2 tkl, 2 dfl) stepped in front of a pass and ran it back 64 yards to put the Redskins up by 14. Washington then stopped the Dallas offense on their next possession. The Redskins used a 7 plays drive to advance 20 yards and kicked a 36-yard field with six minutes to play. Sean Taylor hauled in his second interception on the ensuing Dallas drive to help finish off the victory.
