Game goes to the Final Gun in OT |
The Arizona Cardinals and Washington Redskins both came into this game undefeated. Arizona was looking for a little revenge after getting knock out of the play-offs by Washington last season.
First Quarter
The Cardinals defense came out and dominated the Redskins offense early on. Arizona's offense took a little time themselves. Ten minutes into the game the Cardinals capped an 11 play, 70 yard drive with a 40-yard field for the only score.

Second Quarter
After another Redskins three and out, the Cardinals moved the ball again. This time going 64 yards on 13 plays for a 28-yard field goal. After yet another short Redskins drive the Cardinals marched down the field once again. Just after the two minute warning they kicked a 41-yard field after a 10 play, 38 yard effort.

Third Quarter
The Redskins offense finally found an answer three minutes into the second half. Clinton Portis (23 carries, 61 yards) made a nifty spin move and found the endzone from 4 yards away {7 play, 78 yards}. The Cardinals offense got right back to moving the ball, but Terrence Wheatley (4 tackles, 1 deflection) came up with an interception.

Fourth Quarter
The Washington offense turned the turnover into three points on the opening play of the quarter with a 31-yard field goal {11 plays, 74 yards}. After a defensive stop and a nice punt return by Breaston the Redskins moved the ball in for a first and goal from the 3. However, the Cardinals would give them a yard and the Redskins had to settle for a 22-yard field and a 13-9 lead with seven minutes to play. The Cardinals converted a key fourth down to keep alive a 15 play, 74 yard drive. They took the lead on an 11 yard touchdown pass on fourth down and 1:24 to go. Carson Palmer (19-33-223-1-1) through a perfect strike to Jacoby Jones (4 rec, 63 yards). The Redskins offense moved quickly and kicked home a 37-yard field goal to tie it as time expired.

Overtime
The Cardinals won the toss and started to march down the field. They hammered through a key 4th and inches around midfield. The Redskins defense found a way to stop them at the 37 though, and the Cardinals punted the ball away to play field position. The Washington offense would have an answer as they moved the ball back down the field. Kicking a 38-yard field goal to win the game as time expired in overtime.
